ACA Presents… The Welcome Back "Potluck" Dinner
On Tuesday, September 23rd, from 5-7 p.m., Academy for Creative Artists (ACA) students and faculty will meet in the John Bowne High School teacher's cafeteria for a community dinner to kick off the new school year! A "potluck" is a meal to which everyone who is invited brings food to share. Feel free to bring a homemade (or store-bought) baked or cooked treat to share!
English Regents Tutoring
English Regents tutoring is available Monday-Friday during periods 4,6,9, and 11 in room 232. In addition, English Regents tutoring is also available every Saturday with Ms. Gurewich in room 204 from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM.

Registration is Open for the Fall Semester of Technology Classes at Queensborough Community College

Sophomores and juniors interested in registering for College Now technology classes for the Fall semester offered though Queensborough Community College should see Mr. Ojalvo or Mr. Sussman in room 124 or the College Office for an application. Courses are tuition free, offer transferable credit and are given at Bowne High School. Course offerings include Web Applications on Saturday mornings and Computer Applications on Monday and Wednesday during periods 9 and 10.
The CFW Drama Class Presents… Love (Awkwardly)
The Center For Writing drama class presents this year's main-stage play, the comedy… Love (Awkwardly). Come down to the John Bowne auditorium to support the class and enjoy the show! The premier performance is Thursday, May 1st from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a second performance on Friday, May 2nd from 7:30-10 p.m. Tickets are $2 in advance (see Ms. Vucinaj) and $3 at the door.
CFW Presents The SAT Vocabulary Bee!
The Center For Writing program will be hosting the SAT Vocabulary Bee on Wednesday, April 30th from 5-7 p.m. in the teacher’s cafeteria. All John Bowne students are welcome to compete! There will be two competitions: one for 9th-10th graders and another for 11th-12 graders. During this bee, students will be asked to appropriately define frequently occurring SAT vocabulary words. See your English teacher or Mr. Laboska in the English Department (Room 232) for a suggested study list!
