Need a Place to Work on your Research Paper? The Library is Open Period "12" and on Saturdays!
The library will be open Monday-Friday during "12th" period (4:41 PM- 5:27 PM) and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM -12: 00 PM during Cycle III. Teachers/librarians will be there to assist students in the research process.

John Bowne Participates in the New York City Brain Bee
STEM Seniors Catherine Lin and Meena Manely were only questions away from the final round of this year's Brain Bee held at Columbia University. The competition is a fun and engaging way to test each candidates' knowledge of the human brain. We congratulate their hard work and look forward to next year's event. Both young ladies plan on becoming doctors. Click above for pics.
The Bridges of John Bowne High School
Students in Mr. Ly's Civil Engineering Class demonstrate their knowledge in their latest building challenge: Wooden Splint Truss Bridges. Students had to design, build and test model wooden bridges. If you are interested in taking the class next year, speak to your guidance counselor. Click above for pics.

You MUST take the lab practical portion of the exam! The lab practical will be offered between January 13th and January 23rd. See Mr. Zelkind in room 305 for details. Be sure you are studying!
College Now Science Classes- Register NOW!
Attention Seniors! College Now science classes are forming for the Spring term. Courses in Biology and Earth Science are available. Earn 3 transferrable college credits for free. This is a great opportunity to prepare yourself for life after high school. To be eligible, you must have earned at least a 75% on your English Regents. See Mr. Zelkind in room 305 or Ms. Aravantinos in room 209 to register.
COLLEGE NOW REGISTRATION FOR SPRING 2015
Shout out to Juniors and Seniors! College Now technology classes through Queensborough Community College are now forming for the Spring 2015 term. Courses are offered in Web Applications on Saturday mornings and Computer Applications on Mondays and Wednesdays during periods 9 and 10. Tuition is free and classes take place at Bowne. Each course offers three transferable college credits. Please complete the online registration link and the attached applications. See Mr. Ojalvo or Mr. Sussman in room 124 or the College Office for more information and an application.

The Academy for Creative Artists Presents… "Romeo, You Idiot"
The Academy for Creative Artists presents... the Drama Program's Winter Production: "Romeo, You Idiot"-- a spoof on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Come down to the John Bowne auditorium to support the class and enjoy the show! The premier performance is Thursday, December 4th at 5 p.m. There will be a second performance on Friday, December 5th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in Room 232 from Ms. Borg or Mr. Remeika or Room 224C (the A.C.A. office) from Mr. Laboska. We hope to see you there!
A.C.A. Presents… Game Night!
The Academy for Creative Artists presents… Game Night! This event will take place on Tuesday, November 25th from 4:30-7p.m. in the teacher's cafeteria.

Blow off some acting and writing steam with some fun and friendly competition! Participate in a variety of games and boardgames—such as Scrabble, Taboo, Life, Connect 4, and more! Entry is free for all students.

Sign-up in the A.C.A. office (Room 224C) if you want to bring your own board game!
